David is a Service Delivery Technician at Principal. He is running for the great charity: Cancer Research UK
"I’ve been a runner for around six years, I run anything from 5K to marathon distance (26.2 miles) and I participate in Parkrun every Saturday morning. I race at least once a month, usually these are 10k road races, but I frequently also race 10 miles and Half marathons."
"I train up to 5 days a week and run up to 40 miles per week. I am a member of Canterbury Harriers and train with them as often as I am able."
"I decided to run the Geneva marathon as I am 40 this year, and as I was born in Chur, Switzerland, it made sense to find a Swiss marathon."
"I find marathon distance insane, and struggle every time, I usually cry at the end as I’m so exhausted, but after I recover I’m usually thinking about the next one. I have run 6 now. My preferred distance is 10K, my PB is 43:16, but I continue to push and aim to get faster. I wanted to achieve a sub 40 time before my 40th, but that is unlikely."
"I find that running de-stresses me, it is a brilliant way of meeting people and making friends. Initially, I started running for fitness, and then I got hooked."
"My favourite event is Dwars Door in Bruges, this is a 15K run around the city."
"This month is a busy month, I will be participating in the University of Kent and Canterbury on Sunday 19th May and Vitality London 10000 on Monday 27th May."
